Following the 60th La Biennale di Venezia where he made history as the first Indigenous artist to present a solo show for the U.S. Pavilion, Jeffrey Gibson opens a fully commissioned exhibition in MASS MoCA’s largest gallery. Known for creating installations that provide visibility to queer and Indigenous communities, Gibson views POWER FULL BECAUSE WE’RE DIFFERENT as an invitation to other Indigenous creatives to contribute to a space where difference is not only considered but celebrated. The installation features video, garments, stage design, sound design, and performances from Gibson himself and 40+ artists.
